Cross Country Competes at Friendship Invitational

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Kim Miller continued her impressive start to her career, finishing 11th out of 128 runners as the Asbury women placed 8th out of 12 teams at the Friendship Invitational at Cedarville University on Saturday.
Miller, a freshman from Harlan, Ky., finished outside of the top 10 for the first time in three races. Her 19:21 was just three seconds outside of the top 10. Alex Archambault from Cedarville won the race with a time of 18:11, four seconds ahead of her closest competitor.
Other notable finishes for Asbury include Justine Vonderheide placing 30th with a time of 20:04 and Christina Williams’ 65th place finish after running a 21:17. Along with Miller those three have been the top three finishers in each race so far this season.
The men finished 9th out of nine teams on Saturday with Caleb Mootispaw claiming the top spot for Asbury in 86th place with a time of 29:30 in the 8K race. There were 132 racers in the men’s division. Eric Sanders finished 97th after a 29:55 and Seth Hayes was 100th with a time of 30:08.
The Eagles will take a week off from racing next weekend before traveling to the Greater Louisville Classic on September 29.
