Women's Cross Country Chosen Third in KIAC Pre-Season Poll
BEREA, Ky. - The KIAC coaches have selected Brescia University as the top women’s cross country team, conference officials announced Wednesday, August 15th. The Brescia women won the 2011 conference championship last season.
Asbury was picked third with 51 points and also had one first place vote after finishing second in last year’s conference championship. The Bearcats led the way, collecting 58 points in the poll including five first place votes. Berea College was selected in the second position with 57 points and three first place votes. Asbury sits in the third spot with 51 points and picked up the other first place vote. IU East and Midway claimed the fourth and fifth positions in the poll with 36 points and 32 points respectively. They are followed by St. Louis College of Pharmacy (31 points), Point Park University (28 points), Alice Lloyd College (17 points), and Carlow University (14 points). The 2012 cross country season will begin in late August.
