WILMORE, Ky. - The Eagles jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back as they took the court by storm and cruised, defeating Ohio Christian University 82-66 and improving their record to 7-3.
Senior Sam Burr reached double-double status as she finished with 10 total points and 11 total rebounds. Teammate Ellie Steiner also contributed to the Eagle’s domination with a game high of 19 points—six on freebies from three OCU technical fouls—followed closely by Annissia Wood with 18 points.
Kylee Gorby and Savannah Taylor also had solid games pulling down six and eight rebounds, respectively, and combining for a total of 24 points. All five Eagle starters reached double digit figures.
The quick start led to an early Eagles’ lead and by halftime the Eagles had already proved themselves as they went into the break leading 42-27.
The team as a whole had positive results at the free throw line collecting 75.7 percent of their attempts totaling 28 of their points made.
Hopefully the Eagles can continue their control of the court as the Zweifel/Prichett Classic tournament plays out at the Luce this weekend. The Eagles will play next on Saturday, December 7th as they go head-to-head with University of Cincinnati-Clermont at 4:00 p.m.
