Barbee Named NAIA All-American Honorable Mention

Trenia BarbeeWILMORE, Ky. – Senior guard Trenia Barbee has been named National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American Honorable Mention as announced by the association on Wednesday.  Barbee is the first Asbury selection from the women's basketball program in school history.

Barbee finished the season as the second-leading scorer in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and coincidentally the second-leading scorer in NAIA II at 24.3 points per game. The senior from Detroit also led the team with 7.4 rebounds per game and was second with 2.8 assists per game.

In just two years as an Eagle, Barbee scored over 1,200 points and finishes 5th on the school’s all-time scoring list. Her 755 points this season and 24.3 points per game are school records for a single season. Barbee scored 43 points in December against Midway which set the school mark for a single game.

Asbury posted their first 20-win season in 2012-13, finishing with a 23-10 record overall. The Eagles reached the KIAC championship game for the second consecutive year. Asbury won 41 games during Barbee’s two years.
