Gray Named KIAC Player of the Week

Ellen GrayBEREA, Ky. - Asbury University senior Ellen Gray was named the KIAC women’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, February 6th. This is her second conference player of the week award of the season.

Gray averaged 20.7 points and 3.3 assists in three Asbury wins last week. She started the week with 19 points and three rebounds in a 116-77 win over Midway College. The senior guard scored 23 points and made six 3-point attempts in a 70-64 win over Kentucky Christian on Friday. She finished the week with 20 points and 6 assists in a 90-43 win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday.

For the week, the senior shot 59.4 (19-of-32) percent from the field and 60 percent (15-of-25) from behind the 3-point line. She ranks first in NAIA Division II 3-point field goal percentage (48.7) and is currently averaging 13.28 points per game.  Gray also ranks eighth in 3-pointers made per game (3.0) and total 3-pointers made.

The Eagles are currently 15-10 overall and first in the KIAC with a 7-1 conference record. They will return to action on February 7th when they host Berea College for a conference game at 6p.m.
