Carroll Named NCCAA Player of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The National Christian College Athletic Association announced that Asbury junior guard Laura Carroll has been named Division I women's basketball Player of the Week for February 13th – February 19th.
In Asbury’s only game last week, Carroll led Asbury to an 88-83 victory over Alice Lloyd College. She ended the contest with 27 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals. The junior guard shot 62.5 percent (10-of-16) from the field and made 87.5 percent (7-of-8) from the free throw line. She is currently averaging 12.1 points and 3.8 assists per game. Carroll currently ranks 12th in NAIA Division II with an assist/turnover ratio of 2.02.
The Eagles are currently 17-11 overall and 9-2 in conference play. They clinched the top seed in the KIAC Tournament and will play the winner of #4 Brescia University and #5 Berea College on February 27th.
