No. 9 Lady Bulldogs Too Much for Eagles

Ellen GrayWILMORE, Ky. – The ninth-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan Lady Bulldogs were too much in the second half for the Eagles, pulling away for a 78-58 victory.  Asbury falls to 3-5 on the season as Tennessee Wesleyan improves to 4-2. 

The Lady Bulldogs would take a nine-point halftime lead and quickly push it out to double-digits where it would stay for the rest of the game, holding a 23 point lead at one point.  Asbury would shoot only 34% in the game while TWC would connect on 50% of their shots.  Asbury would hang with the Lady Bulldogs in the first half despite eight three-pointers from the Lady Bulldogs.  They would finish 12-of-32 from long range while Asbury would shoot seven-of-18.

Lakin Griffith would post her second straight double-double with a team-high 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Ellen Gray would also hit double digits with 10 points.  Tennessee Wesleyan dominated on the glass, pulling down 42 rebounds to Asbury’s 27. 

Asbury will close out the Asbury Inn-vitational on Saturday against Principia at 1 p.m.
