Carroll's 61 Points Leads to KIAC Honors

Carroll scored 61 points in two games last week.Asbury University sophomore guard Laura Carroll was named the KIAC women’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, February 14th.  This is Carroll’s second player of the week award on the season. 

For the week, Carroll averaged 30.5 points and 5.5 assists per game.  In an 85-72 win over Cincinnati Christian University, she scored 27 points and handed out 3 assists.  Carroll also scored 34 points and had 8 assists in a 70-66 loss to Brescia University.  She connected on 59 percent of her field goals (23-of-39) and 86.7 percent from the free throw line (13-of-15) over the two games. Her 34 point game is the most points scored since 1992 and third most in school history.

Carroll currently ranks fifth in the KIAC with an average of 15.18 points per game.  She is also 14th in NAIA Division II with a free throw percentage of 84.5.  Asbury is set to return to action on February 15th when they host Berea.
