IUS powers past Eagles

WILMORE, Ky. – Indiana Southeast ran away from the Eagles in the second half as Asbury dropped their conference home opener 67-50 on Saturday night.  The Grenadiers turned a close game early into a blowout, out-scoring the Eagles 43-14 from the 12:53 mark in the first half until the 11:17 mark in the second half.

Asbury (9-11, 1-2 KIAC) grabbed an early 11-7 lead as Lakin Griffith scored nine of the team’s first 11 points.  Griffith would finish as the only Eagle in double-figures with 13 points, she would also lead all players with nine rebounds.  Asbury shot only 31% for the game while the Grenadiers hit at a 45% clip.
