Asbury drops KIAC opener
MIDWAY, Ky. – Asbury couldn’t stop Midway as they shot 55% from the floor in a 75-67 victory on Tuesday night. Asbury showed signs of rust as they played their first game since December 22nd.
The Eagles shot only 29% in the first half but trailed by only nine at 35-26. That first half hole was too much to overcome even though Asbury got hot in the second half, hitting on 54% after the intermission. Laura Carroll led the way with 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting.
Lakin Griffith was also in double figures for the Eagles with 17 points but only had two rebounds. The Eagles as a team only pulled down 19 boards, compared to Midway’s 33. Midway was led by Whitney Odom who scored a game high 20 points.
Asbury will travel to Cincinnati on Thursday to battle Cincinnati Christian at 6:00 pm.
