Gray named KIAC Player of the Week
BEREA, Ky. – Ellen Gray was named KIAC women’s basketball player of the week after her performance last week against St. Catharine. The junior guard scored 21 points in the losing effort.
Gray knocked down six threes in the game against the Patriots and shot 7-13 overall from the field. She played only 26 minutes in the game due to foul trouble in the first half playing only nine minutes. Gray exploded after halftime for 14 points and hit four threes as the Eagles tried to muster a comeback in their eventual loss, 91-72
On the season Gray is second on the team in points per game at 11.3 but has only played in six of the team’s nine games due to an ankle injury early in the year. Gray has connected from distance 19 times this year moving her up to 4th on the school’s all-time leaderboard with 112.
This is the first time Gray has been named player of the week in her career and the second Eagle to receive the honor this year, joining Laura Carroll who was named on November 8.
The Eagles get back into game action when they travel to Cincinnati to battle Cincinnati-Clermont on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
