Eagles Pound Grace
GRAYSON, Ky. – Asbury won their second straight in the Super 8 Classic hosted by Kentucky Christian University on Friday afternoon, an 83-46 blowout of Grace Bible College. The Eagles led by only 14 at the break but outscored Grace by 23 in the second half to pull away.
For the second straight game an Eagle posted a double-double as freshman Brislyn Sizemore led the team with 12 points and 11 rebounds off the bench in 18 minutes. Another freshman, Brittany Flowers, was in double digits for the first time in her short career with 11 off the bench.
Asbury’s (2-4) 83 points are the most for the team this season, despite shooting only 40% for the game and committing 29 turnovers. 13 players played ten or more minutes as the Eagles cruised in the second half. All 14 players that played scored in the game for Asbury.
The Eagles dominated on the glass, pulling down 54 rebounds to only 27 for Grace. The Eagles pulled in 22 offensive rebounds led by Flowers’ five. Sizemore and Sam Burr grabbed four offensive rebounds each.
Asbury will finish out the Super 8 Classic on Saturday at 12:00 pm against Atlanta Christian.
