Beaudrie, Turner, Dean Sign With Eagles

Wilmore, Ky. – Asbury women’s basketball Coach Bart Flener has announced the signing of three more for his 2010 class, Audri Beaudrie, Mika Turner, and Jessica Dean.  That brings the 2010 class up to 10 signees.

Audri Beaudrie played last year for conference rival Brescia University after attending Oldham County High School.  Beaudrie appeared in 16 games last year for the Bearcats.  She was an All-District and All-Region performer for the Colonels and scored over 1,000 points.  She will have three years of eligibility remaining.  A5-5 point guard, Beaudrie will join a slew of other guards who will fight for minutes.

Mika Turner played for six years under Paul Green, leading the Lady Owls to the All-A State Tournament for the first time in school history as a senior.  Turner finished in the top 15 in the state in scoring, averaging nearly 20 points per game.  A 5-7 forward/guard Turner will provide height and length on the perimeter.

Jessica Dean is a 5-3 point guard from South Laurel High School in London, Ky.  Dean was the KABC 13th Region Player of the Year in 2010 as she helped lead the Cardinals to a 23-8 record and a district championship.  She was also named to the 13th Region 1st Team.  During her tenure the Cardinals won three straight 50th District Titles and finished second once.  She helped lead South Laurel to the 2008 KHSAA Girls Sweet Sixteen and was named to the 13th Region All-Tournament Team and 13th Region 2nd Team as a sophomore.  She scored 1,231 points in her six year career on varsity and averaged five steals per game.  Dean was an 85% free-throw shooter and grabbed three rebounds per game.
