Batavia, Ohio - The Eagles couldn't hold a halftime lead as they fell to the Cougars from Cincinnati-Clermont on Tuesday night. Asbury shot only 32% from the floor in the game and only 19% from three-point range.
Courtney Albin (Hartford, Ky.) led the Eagles with 14 points but struggled from the floor, shooting six-of-19 and missing on all five three-point attempts. Laura Carroll (Paintsville, Ky.) and Dorian Downs (Elizabethtown, Ky.) were also in double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively.
Asbury (6-5) forced 20 turnovers and only turned the ball over 12 times themselves but lost the rebounding battle by 15. The Cougars took advantage of their time at the charity stripe, knocking down 10-of-15 compared to the Eagles' three-of-eight.
The Eagles will play an exhibition game against Kentucky Wesleyan in Owensboro on Saturday December at 6:15 pm eastern. Asbury will close out the first semester at the Pikeville Classic on December 18-19 hosted by Pikeville College.
