Albin Leads Eagles Past Kentucky Christian

Wilmore, Ky. - The Eagles were led by three players in double figures as they downed the Lady Knights of Kentucky Christian 74-60 on Tuesday night in the Luce Center. Courtney Albin (Hartford, Ky.) led the team with 18 points and Dorian Downs (Elizabethtown, Ky.) added 14, Chelsea Williams (Means, Ky.) finished with 10.
Asbury (6-4) took a 27-24 halftime lead in a first half that saw all eight lead changes of the game. The Eagles came out in the second half and starting knocking down threes to pull away. The Eagles hit on six-of-nine three point attempts in the second half and eight-of-14 for the game. Downs made four from beyond the arc and Williams knocked down both of her attempts.
Asbury only shot 42% from the floor in the game but scored more from the three point line and from the free throw line. The Eagles continued to attack the rim anytime the Lady Knights tried to press. Asbury shot 16-of-23 from the free throw line and KCU was only eight-of-16 from the charity stripe.
The Eagles were outrebounded 35-31 in the game as Courtney Albin pulled down a team high seven. Asbury had 16 steals as they forced KCU into 21 turnovers. Laura Carroll, Chelsea Williams, and Hayley Spivey each pulled away three steals.
Kentucky Christian was led by Kristen Hecht's 15 points and a game high 12 rebounds.
Asbury will be at home on Friday December 4th at 7:00 pm as they host Ohio-Chillicothe.
