Eagles Come Back to Win Five Setter
Frankfort, Ky. - The Eagles started November the same way they ended October, with a win. Asbury had to come from behind to defeat Kentucky State in five close sets on Tuesday night.
Asbury (20-12) fell behind 2-1with losses in sets one and three, 23-25, 25-21, 24-26 but fought back and took the last two 25-21, 15-13. Lindsay Ibold and Lauren Budde each recorded 12 kills in the match and Tina Marye joined them in double figures with 10. Emily Andrews had nine kills and zero errors in 23 attacks.
Julia Armstrong recorded her sixth match of 40 or more assists with 41. She has now topped 40 assists in back to back matches, and has gone over 2,000 assists in her career. Hannah Wheeler led the way with 21 digs and Marye added three solo blocks.
The Eagles will close out the regular season in Mayfield as they battle Mid-Continent University on Saturday November 7th at 3:00 pm eastern. The Eagles will host the KIAC Tournament on November 13-14.
