Women Advance With Victory Over Midway

Pippa Passes, KY---The Asbury College women will join the men in the semi-finals of the KIAC Tournament on Friday with an 80-70 win over Midway College on Thursday night. Asbury was down by four at halftime but pulled away late in the second half to survive and advance.
Asbury (15-16) was led by freshmen Courtney Albin's game-high 25 points. Albin was also one rebound away from a double-double with nine. Senior Anna Stephenson had a big game with 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting and a game-high 11 rebounds. Freshmen Hayley Spivey also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Eagles will advance to play the #1 seed Indiana Southeast Friday at 6pm. Asbury lost both games to IUS in the regular season, the first one at home on Janurary 24th a 59-54 loss and the second coming on February 12th at IUS, a 67-43 loss.
