Eagles End Season With Loss in Semis

Pippa Passes, KY---The Asbury College women found trouble scoring against Indiana Southeast's swarming defense, losing 56-38.Despite the loss the Eagles finish the season 15-17 and with the most wins in school history.

Both teams struggled for the start offensively as they went to halftime with the Grenadiers up 26-20.  Asbury shot only 28% in the first half and IUS only 30%.  The offense would not pick up much in the second half either as both teams struggled out of the gate.  Asbury would struggle more as they would go nearly 10 minutes before hitting their first field goal of the half, they would finish with only three made field goals in the second half and only 10 for the game.  Asbury would finish the game shooting 20% from the field, IUS 33.3%.

Senior Anna Stephenson led the team in her final game as an Eagle, scoring 15 points, nine from the free-throw line, and bringing down a team-high nine rebounds and swatting six shots.  Freshmen Courtney Albin scored 11 points bringing her season total to 492, passing April Henderson for the most points scored in a single season, Henderson scored 484 in 2003-2004.
