Asbury Sends Seniors Off With Win

Wilmore, KY---On Thursday the Asbury Women's Basketball team hosted Midway College in its final home game of the season. It was Senior Night for Asbury,with Seniors Anna Stephenson and Jenna Stewart graduating this year. Asbury (14-15) and Midway (2-23) were knotted at 16 seven minutes into the game until Asbury began to pull away with a 7-0 run and finished the half with a 50-39 lead. From that point Asbury cruised to a 79-67 win.

Asbury was led by Senior Anna Stephenson. She finished with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Freshmen Courtney Albin and Christy Gemmel added 15 points each for Asbury. As a team Asbury shot 49 percent from  the field and 45 percent from three point range. Sydney Napier led Midway with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Asbury will play Berea in its final regular season game on Saturday at Berea. Asbury will be looking to finish at or above .500 in the regular for the first time in the programs history.
