Women's basketball hangs on for win over St. Louis Pharmacy, 61-59
Wilmore, KY - Asbury nearly went to their third straight overtime game, but an Emily Smith shot went off the rim as time expired to give the Eagles a 61-59 win over St. Louis Pharmacy. The Eagles seemingly had the game in hand after a Brittany Abbott basket gave them their biggest lead of 60-46 with just 4:47 remaining. Abbott rescued Asbury all day long with 26 points, including 6-of-9 shooting from three-point range. The junior offset a poor shooting night by the rest of the team, going 11-of-44 without Abbott's 8-of-12 overall performance from the field.
The win moves Asbury to above .500 on the year at 10-9, 3-1 in conference, tied with Midway and Alice Lloyd with one loss apiece. The Eagles will next face Midway on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
