Volleyball Improves to 23-7 With Sweep of CCU

CINCINNATI, Ohio - For the second time this season, Asbury (23-7) defeated Cincinnati Christian University(3-15) 3-0, winning in straight sets by scores of 25-10, 26-24, and 25-21.
Senior Mackenzie Burke and junior Jessie Bartlow helped the team with a combined 29 assists. Senior Kelly Cole was the defensive leader of the night with 15 digs while Maddie Lewis aided with 10 digs of her own.
Senior Allison Rehner and junior Sarah Sterling—the first two players on the current team to reach 1,000 career kills-- put up seven kills each, but it was senior Catherine Wolter who led the team in kills with a team-high 10.
“Catherine Wolter really carried our offense tonight,” said Coach JP Rader. “She kept us on track the whole night.”
The Eagles will be on the road again tomorrow to try to break the eight-game winning streak of the Kentucky State University Thorobreds (18-7) at 7 p.m.
