Cole, Falkenberg Take Home Player of the Week Awards for KIAC
Berea, Ky. - Senior volleyball player Kelly Cole and freshman runner Katy Falkenberg have been voted as players of the week for the KIAC for the week of August 26th - September 1 the conference announced on Monday.
The award is the first of the season from the conference, and the first for either player this season.

Kelly Cole, Asbury University – Volleyball Player of the Week
5-5 Senior – Lexington, KY
Asbury University senior Kelly Cole was named the KIAC volleyball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 2nd. The Eagles finished the week 1-0 after defeating Bethel University 3-0. Cole established a new Asbury volleyball record earlier this season. The senior set the career record for digs which now stands at 2,184. She recorded 15 digs against Bethel to improve the Eagles overall record to 2-3 on the season. Asbury will return to action on September 6th when they compete in the Rumpke Tournament in Georgetown, KY.
Katy Falkenberg, Asbury University – Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Freshman – North Canton, OH
Asbury University Katy Falkenberg was named the KIAC women’s cross country runner of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 2nd. Asbury University competed in Chick-Fil-A Invitational on August 31st. Falkenberg won her first collegiate race. She finished first out of 56 runners in the 5K with a time of 20:35. Asbury finished second in the event. The Eagles will return to action on September 14th at the Centre College Invitational in Danville, KY.
