Volleyball Season Ends in KIAC Semis

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Asbury volleyball fell in the KIAC semifinals to No. 24 Point Park on Saturday 3-0 (25-10, 25-23, 25-18). This year’s KIAC Tournament is being hosted by Cincinnati Christian. This is the first time Asbury hasn’t made the tournament finals since 2006.
It was the senior Brittney Rader who led the Eagles in her final game, compiling a team-high nine kills on 19 attacks. Her .319 attack percentage was one of the few bright spots for the offense that hit .073 for the match. The Eagles hit negative .286 in the first set, committing 13 errors. They had only 12 errors in the final two sets. Point Park hit .286 for the match.
Asbury had a tough time hitting past the Pioneer block as Point Park racked up six solo and 16 block assists. Keaton Sausman led the Pioneers with two solo blocks and four block assists. Lindsey Oberacker led the Pioneers with 15 kills.
The Eagles advanced to the semifinals late on Friday night with a 3-0 decision over Brescia. Rader led the way in that match as well with 10 kills on 19 attempts. Rader closes out her career fourth on the all-time kills leaderboard in Asbury history with 1,268.
The Eagles finish the season with a 27-12 record, their fifth straight year winning 20 games or more. There have only been 11 seasons of 20 wins in school history.
