Volleyball Completes Season Sweep of Pikeville
PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Asbury completed a season sweep of the Pikeville Bears on Friday, taking the match in three sets, 25-10, 25-15, 25-11. The Eagles defeated the Bears in Wilmore last Friday 3-0.
The Eagles (17-8) have won three straight and 13 of their last 14. Asbury hit .275 for the match and was led by Sarah Sterling’s eight kills. The team produced 13 service aces, the second straight match with ten or more and the third time in five matches. Brittney Rader led the way with five and Jessie Bartlow chipped in with four.
Asbury will host No. 17 Indiana East and Carlow in a KIAC tri-match on Saturday. The Eagles will take on the highly touted Red Wolves at 12pm and will play conference newcomer Carlow at 4pm. The Eagles and Red Wolves have won or shared the last four KIAC titles and have met in the tournament championship game for four straight years. They split last year in the regular season.
