Eagles Bury Kentucky State
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Asbury won their 12th straight over Kentucky State on Wednesday, 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-10) to improve to 16-8 on the season. Kentucky State falls to 12-14.
The Eagles continued the recent success of their offensive attack on Wednesday, posting a .321 attack percentage with only 10 attack errors on the night. Sarah Sterling hit .533 with eight kills on 15 attacks while Brittney Rader led the team with nine kills. Catherine Wolter also collected eight kills.
The offense was helped out with the serve, collecting 15 service aces. Asbury has posted 48 aces over their last four matches. Kelly Cole led the Eagles with a season-high six aces. Cole also added 16 digs in the match. Mackenzie Burke chipped in with four aces and 20 assists. Burke moves into a tie for fifth with 153 career service aces. She also sits in fourth place on the career list with 2,364 assists, 34 out of third place.
The Eagles will continue their busy week as they travel to Pikeville on Friday before returning home for a tri-match with KIAC rivals No. 17 Indiana East and Carlow on Saturday. The Eagles will play at 12pm and 4pm.
