Volleyball Thumps Pikeville 3-0
WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury volleyball kept the streak alive, winning their ninth straight with a 3-0 victory over Pikeville. The Eagles cruised to victory 25-11, 25-5, 25-14. Asbury will play a tri-match at Covenant College on Saturday. They will also play Wesleyan College.
The Eagles (13-7) hit a robust .437 for the match including an astounding .593 in the first set and .500 in the second set. Asbury committed only five attack errors in the entire match. Brittney Rader led the way with 11 kills and hit .625 for the match. Alyssa Downs added 10 kills on 22 attacks. Jessie Bartlow racked up 23 assists as the Eagles got on lengthy runs in each set.
The first set was tied 5-5 before reeling off eight straight points with Maddie Lewis serving. Lewis finished the match with two service aces and 10 digs. The Eagles piled up nine aces on the night with Kellianne Crouse tallying three and Mackenzie Burke chipping in with two. Burke also added 16 assists. Kelly Cole led the defense with 14 digs.
