Volleyball Splits Tri-Match

VolleyballMCKENZIE, Tenn. – Asbury volleyball split a tri-match with Bethel (Tenn.) and Cumberlands (Ky.) on Friday night.  The Eagles defeated Cumberlands in 3-1 before falling to the hosts from Bethel 3-1 in the nightcap. 

Sarah Sterling led the Eagles with 14 kills against Cumberlands as the Eagles (4-6) won three straight after dropping the first, 22-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-22.  Brittney Rader and Morgan Newton each collected 10 kills in the match.

In the match against Bethel, Rader led the team with 12 kills as Sterling put up 11.  Mackenzie Burke put up 45 assists in the two matches as Jessie Bartlow totaled 37.  Kelly Cole had 37 digs in the match against Cumberlands and also added 18 against Bethel. 

The Eagles will be in action on Tuesday as they travel to Cincinnati Christian for a 7 pm match.
