Morgan NewtonMIDWAY, Ky. – Asbury volleyball won their second straight on Tuesday night, defeating KIAC foe Midway 3-0 in a non-KIAC match.  The Eagles defeated Midway 25-20, 25-15, 25-10.

Sarah Sterling led the Eagles (3-5) with 12 kills on 21 attempts, a .429 attack percentage.  Middle blocker Morgan Newton hit .538 with nine kills on 13 attempts.  Asbury hit .250 for the match with 16 of their 38 kills coming in the second set.  Midway hit only .052 for the match after registering 11 kills and a .212 percentage in the first set.  Morgan Johnson led Midway with six kills.

Kelly Cole led the defense with 18 digs as defensive specialists Maddie Lewis and Cari McMullen added five each.  Setter Mackenzie Burke also recorded five digs as well as a game-high 22 assists.  Asbury dug 44 balls on the night.  Jessie Bartlow added 14 assists.

Asbury will travel to McKenzie, Tenn. on Friday for a tri-match with Bethel (Tenn.) and Cumberlands (Ky.).
