Eagles Dropped by Lindsey Wilson
COLUMBIA, Ky. – Asbury volleyball could not re-pay Lindsey Wilson for the Eagles’ only loss at home this year, losing to the Lady Blue Raiders 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-15) on Wednesday evening. Two of the Eagle’s six losses on the season have come at the hands of Lindsey Wilson.
Asbury (34-6) collected 17 of their 37 kills in the first set but Lindsey Wilson was able to steal the set 26-24. Asbury wound up hitting only .238 for the match after a .077 third set, while the Lady Blue Raiders hit .293 for the match. A big difference in the match was serving; the Eagles committed 11 service errors while Lindsey Wilson made only four.
Kirsten King from LWC led all players with 13 kills and teammate Taylor Hayne added 11. Asbury was led by Catherine Wolter with seven kills on 14 attacks and no errors. Lindsay Ibold, Sarah Sterling and Dena Busse each added six kills.
