Eagles Sweep Midway

Brittney RaderMIDWAY, Ky. – Asbury volleyball won their ninth straight overall and 19th straight KIAC match, a streak that dates back to 2009.  The Eagles swept Midway for the second time this year (25-12, 25-17, 25-15) and have now beaten them 12 straight times.

Asbury (22-4, 7-0) hit only .241 for the match, but was helped out as Midway hit negative .034.  Brittney Rader led the Eagles with 11 kills, the first time she’s reached double-digits since September 20th.  Rader also added a solo and assisted block. 

Senior Lindsay Ibold climbed two more spots on the school’s all-time kills list after collecting 10 against Midway.  Ibold now sits in sixth place with 1,015 and is just 12 behind former teammate Lauren Budde.  Ibold leads the team with 238 kills on the season and ranks in the top five nationally in attack percentage.

Sophomore Mackenzie Burke added two more service aces to season total now at a team-best 31.  She also leads the team in assists with 568 after adding 13 to her total against Midway.  Freshman Jessie Bartlow collected 12 assists against Midway.  Kelly Cole led Asbury with eight digs.

Asbury will host University of the Cumberlands on Friday at 6 p.m.
