Wheeler honored as Scholar-Athlete

Wheeler was named a 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete.WILMORE, Ky. – Senior libero Hannah Wheeler (Lexington, Ky.) was named a 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athlete as announced by the association.  Wheeler a History major was the lone Eagle volleyball player honored.

Wheeler’s outstanding performance is not just limited to the classroom as she ranks 1st in school history (since 2002) with 2,134 digs and her 4.1 digs per game are also tops.  This year Wheeler collected 522 digs and 41 service aces.

During her four years the team won more matches (102) than any other four year timeframe and won two KIAC Regular Season Championships (2008, 2010) as well as the 2008 KIAC Tournament Championship and a bid to the NAIA Opening Round.

To be eligible for the Daktroincs-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award student-athletes must be either a junior or senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
