Streak Hits 10
WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury didn’t ease to their 10th straight win, but they got there, beating Kentucky State 25-17, 25-21, 26-24 on Saturday afternoon in the Luce Center. Asbury (12-1) is off to the best start in program history and their 10 game winning streak is the best ever.
Lauren Budde and Brittney Rader led the offensive attack with nine kills each as the Eagles racked up 40 kills in the match. Asbury got off to a great start with 16 in the first set, where they hit .351. From there they slid a little bit but still came through with a .217 attack percentage for the match. Lindsay Ibold had eight kills in the match.
The setting duo of Mackenzie Burke and Emily Andrews combined for 34 of the team’s 35 assists. Andrews totaled 19, bringing her season total to 222, which is also the total for Burke after she tallied 15 on Saturday. Hannah Wheeler led the team with 13 digs and leads the team with 184 on the season.
Asbury will hit the road for four matches this week, first up is Wednesday night at 7:00 pm at Midway.
