Eagles Stumble on the Road

Danville, Ky. - Asbury volleyball dropped a three set match for the first time in over a month, falling to Centre College on the road Wednesday night 21-25, 21-25, 24-26.  The Eagles were 2-1 against the Colonels last year; this was their only meeting of the season.

Asbury (18-12) struggled on their attack all night with a team percentage of .103 on the night.  The Eagles had a tough time with 19 errors in the first two sets to only 20 kills. Centre came away with 12 blocks on the night.  The Eagles stayed competitive in all three sets and hand a chance to force a fourth set with their best attack coming in set three with 13 kills and only three errors.

Lauren Budde (Taylor Mill, Ky.) tallied 10 kills to lead the Eagles but also had seven errors, which was indicative of the entire team all night long.  Emily Andrews (Deltona, Fla.) added seven kills and only three errors.  Hannah Wheeler (Lexington, Ky.) dug 17 balls and Julia Armstrong (Austin, Texas) added 30 assists.

Asbury will host Senior Night on Friday October 30th as they finish out KIAC play with Mountain State.  The Eagles look to solidify their place in the top three of the conference with a win on Homecoming.  First serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
