Asbury Has Little Trouble in Defeating Midway

Wilmore, Ky. - The Asbury volleyball team had little trouble in defeating Midway College in three games on Tuesday night at the Luce Center. Asbury jumped all over Midway in game one with a 25-6 victory, and followed that up with 25-13, and 25-18 victories.

Asbury (12-7, 3-2 KIAC) had their best offensive night of the season with an attack percentage of .346 as a team. The Eagles had 33 kills and only four errors in 89 attempts. Sophomore Lindsay Iblod (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the team with eight kills and zero errors. Juniors Lauren Budde (Taylor Mill, Ky.) and Emily Andrews (Deltona, Fla.) added seven kills a piece, Budde also had zero errors.

Asbury used more than just kills in defeating Midway, as the Eagles tallied seven service aces with Brittney Rader (Seoul, South Korea) leading the way with a season-high five. Midway didn't help themselves on this night with only nine kills and a team attack percentage of -.075.

Asbury will host the Asbury Invitational this Friday and Saturday October 9th and 10th. The Eagles will be in action on Friday at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm, and Saturday at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.
