Volleyball Takes CCU in Three

Cincinnati, Ohio - Asbury volleyball continued it's road trip with an important conference win over Cincinnati Christian University on Tuesday night.  The Eagles only needed three games against CCU after needing five games to beat them earlier in the season.

Lindsay Ibold (Cincinnati, Ohio) returned to her hometown and led the Eagles with 13 kills, two solo blocks, and two block assists.  Ibold is playing as the only middle hitter after Tina Marye went down with a foot injury this past weekend.  Brittney Rader (Seoul, South Korea) was also in double digits with 10 kills, she added five digs as well.  Emily Andrews (Deltona, Fla.) had nine kills for the Eagles.

Asbury improved dramatically upon a poor offensive attack on the weekend, hitting .313 against CCU.  The Eagles hit. -.035 and .101 in their two matches at the Centre Invitational.  This was only the second time Asbury was won a match in three games, the other coming against Midway College last week.  The Eagles were pushed in their three games against CCU, 25-19, 25-19, 25-21 but were able to stop any rally from CCU.

Asbury will travel to Union College in Barbourville, Ky. on Saturday September 26th for a Tri-Match against Union and Montreat.  Asbury will first play Montreat at 3:00 pm followed by a match with Union at 5:00 pm.
