Eagles Ease Past Midway

Midway, Ky. - Asbury volleyball stretched it's winning streak to three after a three set win over Midway College on Thursday night.  The Eagles had by far their easiest match of the season in winning 25-10, 25-10, 25-12.

Asbury (5-4) climbs above .500 for the first time all season thanks in large part to their current winning streak.  Junior right side hitter Lauren Budde continues to pace the Eagles, adding 13 kills to her team-leading total of 87.  More importantly than the 13 kills was the zero she put up in the error category on 23 attempts.  Budde added two assists, three digs, one solo block, and one block assist on the night.

The Eagles had an attack percentage of .291 on the night, the second highest on the season.  Senior Tina Marye led the attack from the middle with eight kills, while Brittney Rader added six from the outside.  Senior setter Julia Armstrong continues to make the most of her playing time racking up another 28 assists to bring her season total to an even 200.

Asbury will take part in the annual Centre College Classic this weekend in Danville, Kentucky.  Their first match is scheduled for Saturday September 19th at 1:00 pm against Spalding followed by a match against Transylvania at 3:00 pm.
