Eagles, Rader Earn First Victory

Portsmouth, Ohio - JP Rader earned his first win as Asbury's volleyball coach as the Eagles held off Cincinnati Christian 3-2 on Friday night at the Shawnee State Invitational.  Asbury dropped game one 21-25 before taking the next two 25-14 and 25-17.  CCU battled back in game four 25-18 to force a fifth and final game which Asbury took 15-7.

Emily Andrews (Deltona, Fla.) led the Eagles' with a great all-around performance: nine kills, 14 service aces, and 16 digs.  Brittney Rader (Seoul, South Korea) led the team for the second straight game with 11 kills.  She now has 22 in the team's first two matches.  Hannah Moss (Louisville, Ky.) continued to pile up assists adding 37 tonight.  The freshmen setter has recorded 75 in two matches.

Asbury will play two more matches in the Shawnee State Invitational on Saturday.  The Eagles will take on St. Francis (Ind.) at 10:00 am before taking on the host Shawnee State at 12:00 pm.
