Volleyball Takes Home KIAC Honors

Midway, KY---The Kentucky Intercollegiate Conference announced their volleyball season awards following Asbury's 3-0 victory in the first round of the tournament against Berea. The Eagles were well represented in the awards with Ellen Adkison winning Player of the Year honors and Coach Craig Mosqueda taking home Coach of the Year.
Adkison, a senior outside hitter from Bolivar, Missouri, is the school's all-time leader in digs (1654), games played (571), and matches played (162). She is also second in kills (1569), fourth in service aces (160), fourth in block assists (142), fifth in solo blocks (142), and fifth in total blocks (284). This season Ellen has 401 kills, 478 digs, 40 service aces, and 36 total blocks.
Coach Mosqueda is in his 8th season as the volleyball coach at Asbury, leading his squad to a 24-16 overall record and a perfect 7-0 in the KIAC.
The Eagles also had sophomore right-side hitter Lauren Budde (Taylor Mill, KY), setter/outside hitter Emily Andrews (Deltona, FL), and middle hitter Christian Marye (Lexington, KY) named to the All-KIAC Team.
Asbury will take on the winner of Indiana Southeast and St. Louis Pharmacy in the semi-finals of the KIAC Tournament tomorrow morning at 11am at Midway College. The finals will be at 4pm.
