Volleyball Takes Out Two on the Weekend

Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College volleyball team won two conference games this weekend in West Virginia.  The Eagles defeated Mountain State 3-2 and Indiana Southeast 3-1 on Saturday at Mountain State.

Asbury (18-8, 5-0 KIAC) was led by Ellen Adkison who had 12 kills in each of the two matches as well as 34 digs on the weekend.  Christina Marye had 21 total kills and 13

total blocks.  Emily Andrews had a strong weekend all-around with 35 assists, 14 kills, 22 digs, two service aces and four total blocks.

The Eagles had a tough time against the defending KIAC Champions from Mountain State, needing five games to knock off the Cougars.  Every game was heavily contested with game scores of 28-26, 18-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-7.  The Eagles only needed four games in the second match to take down IUS 25-16, 23-25, 25-14, 25-22.

The Eagles now sit alone atop the conference with a perfect 5-0 mark.  Asbury has a 1.5 games lead on IU East, who they will play on November 8th in Richmond, Indiana.

Asbury will host Berea College (0-5, 0-5) Monday October 13th at 7pm in the Luce Center.
