Eagles Take Out Midway
Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College volleyball team took down Midway College on Thursday night 3-0. Asbury defeated Midway for the second time this year in three games, this time 25-15, 25-22, 25-15.
Asbury (23-11, 6-0) continued their dominance over KIAC opponents with their seventh win in as many tries. This win does not count in the conference standings, only one match per year against a team counts towards the conference record.
The Eagles were led by Ellen Adkison's 13 kills and eight digs. Middle hitter Christian Marye had eight kills and no errors, while Lauren Budde had seven kills of her own. Emily Andrews led the team with 29 assists, she also chipped in with four kills, two service aces, and four digs. Libero Hannah Wheeler led the team with 15 digs, she also had two service aces.
The Eagles will travel to Centre College on Saturday for three matches. Asbury returns home for their last match in the Luce Center this year Tuesday when they take on Campbellsville. Game time has been pushed back from 7pm to 8pm.
