Volleyball Wins on the Road

Frankfort, KY --- The Asbury College volleyball team earned another win on the road Tuesday September 9 against NCAA II Kentucky State University 3-0 with game scores of 25-20, 25-11, 25-16. The Eagles have now won three straight away from the Luce Center, and two in a row overal

Asbury (7-2) was led once again by senior outside hitter Ellen Adkison and junior middle hitter Christina Mayre who each had eight kills. Adkison added 26 digs, which led the team, and two service aces. Mayre had four digs and two solo and two assisted blocks.

Senior outside hitter Abby Andrews, sophomore outside hitter Lauren Budde, and freshmen middle hitter Lindsay Ibold each had seven kills. Budde added two solo and three assisted blocks. Sophomore setter/ outside hitter Emily Andrews led the team with 20 assists. Sophomore libero Hannah Wheeler added 23 digs from the back line.

Asbury will stay on the road for one more match, Saturday September 13th as they travel down the road to Danville, Kentucky to battle Centre College. The Eagles return home next Wednesday September 17 to face off against Transylvania University at 7 pm.
