Volleyball Takes Two
Wilmore, KY--- The Asbury College volleyball team took two matches Saturday September 20th in the Luce Center, defeating St. Catherine's College 25-6, 25-10, 25-17 and conference foe St. Louis College of Pharmacy 25-20, 25-20, 25-17.
The Eagles were led on the day by senior outside hitter Ellen Adkison who had 21 in the six games. Sophomore setter Emily Andrews led the team with 56 assists. Sophomore libero Hannah Wheeler had 25 defensive digs from the back row, and eight total service aces.
Asbury (11-4, 1-0) had 15 service aces against St. Catherine who were outmatched from the start, only 12 kills for the Panthers in the match. The Eutectics gave the Eagles more of a scare in match two, but the Eagles still pulled it out in three.
Asbury will travel to Campbellsville Monday September 22nd for a 7:00 match. The Eagles will then travel to Cincinnati for a tournament at Mt. St. Joseph this weekend. The Eagles will next be in action October 2nd when they host KIAC foe Brescia, game time is 7:00 pm.
