Eagles Payback Pioneers

Wilmore, KY--- The Asbury College volleyball team extracted revenge against Transylvania Wednesday September 17, as they took down the Pioneers 3-0.  These two teams met in the Centre Classic this past Saturday with Transy winning in a five game thriller.  

Asbury (9-4) won going away with game scores of 25-11, 25-14, 25-22.  A better offensive output from the Eagles than Saturday's contest as the Eagles had a combined attack percentage of .292 compared to .121 on Saturday.  Senior outside hitter Ellen Adkison once again led the club with 10 kills and only had one error in 28 total attacks.

Freshmen middle hitter Lindsay Ibold had eight kills in only 12 attacks.  Sophomore Emily Andrews led the team with 22 assists, junior Julia Armstrong added 14.  Sophomore libero Hannah Wheeler had 19 of the team's 59 digs, with Adkison the only other Eagle in double digits with 16. 

Asbury will host St. Catherine and conference opponent St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday September 20.  Asbury will play St. Louis Pharmacy at 10am and St. Catherine at 2pm.  St. Catherine and St. Louis Pharmacy will meet at 12pm.
