Volleyball rebounds from tough weekend with win over Ky. State

Asbury got back in the win column with a 4-game match win over Kentucky State on Tuesday night in Frankfort. The Eagles and Thorobrettes split the first two games before Asbury would seal the win by capturing the third and fourth games, 30-19, 31-33, 30-23, 30-28.

Junior Ellen Adkison led the team with 14 kills, one of three Eagles in double figures with freshmen Lauren Budde (13) and Emily Andrews (10). Freshman Jenelle McClean led with 27 assists but was joined by another freshman, Julia Armstrong with 21 assists as both in double figures as well. Hannah Wheeler recorded 36 digs in the game.

With the win, Asbury improves to 4-7 overall. The team will travel to Barbourville, Ky. this weekend for the Union College Invitational. The Eagles will attempt to even their record against IU-Southeast, Virginia Intermont, and the host, Union College.
