Volleyball proves too much for Midway, 3-0
Asbury dominated play in a win over Midway on Tuesday night at the Luce Center. The Eagles led by junior Abby Andrews' 11 kills simply overwhelmed Midway en route to a 3-game match win, 30-10, 30-16, 30-12. Twelve AC players saw action during the match. Junior Ellen Adkison and freshman Hannah Wheeler led the team with nine digs while two players earned double-digit numbers for assists: Jenelle McClean with 22 and Julia Armstrong with 15.
The win puts Asbury at 2-3 overall and even in the KIAC at 1-1. The team will head to another conference match on Thursday, September 6th as they travel to St. Louis to challenge the Eutectics of St. Louis College of Pharmacy. There is no rest for the weary however as the team will then embark to Baldwin, Kansas to play in the Baker (Univ.) Invitational on Friday and Saturday, the 7th and 8th.
