Harreld, Hogg Garner Scholar Athlete Recognition
WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury University softball senior Maris Harreld (Brandenburg, Ky.) and junior Brittany Hogg (Berea, Ky.) were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes on Wednesday. Harreld was a selection in 2012 as well.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced Wednesday that 286 softball student-athletes have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Central Methodist (Mo.) leads all institutions with nine individuals on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
