Jarboe, Harreld Take Weekly Honors

BEREA, Ky. - Asbury University freshman Julie Jarboe and junior Maris Harrled were named the KIAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week by KIAC officials on Monday, April 2nd.

Jarboe finished the week with a .778 batting average (14-for-18) and collected at least one hit in all six games played last week. She ended the week with 14 runs batted in, 4 doubles, and seven runs scored. The freshman outfielder had a 5-hit game in Asbury’s 17-0 win over Berea College.

Harreld pitched 15 innings in three games last week and earned the win in each contest.  She didn’t allow an earned run and struck out 11 total batters. The junior pitcher picked up wins against Midway College, Berea College, and Alice Lloyd College. She currently leads the KIAC and is 4th in the NAIA with a 0.66 earned run average.

Asbury is currently 11-15 overall and 8-2 in conference play.
