Asbury Powers Past Alice Lloyd

Game One | Game Two

Wilmore, Ky. – Asbury softball had little trouble in taking care of Alice Lloyd in a doubleheader on Friday night, winning both games 12-4 (6) and 10-0 (5).  Asbury surrendered only eight hits in the two games.

Starters Maris Harreld and Kelsey Robinson continue to mirror each other in the freshmen seasons, as both improved to 8-2 on the season.  Robinson started game one and pitched five innings allowing only one hit and a walk while striking out six.  Harreld gave up two hits and struck out three in three innings of work in game two.

Asbury’s (17-5, 10-2 KIAC) offense wasted little time getting started as they put up three runs in each of the first two innings of game one and then scored four in two of the first three innings of game two.  The Eagles stole 12 bases on the day with Mary Ann Warford swiping four, all in game one.

Emily Ethington drove in seven runs on the day, picking up the slack as the team RBI leader Miranda Drury sat out.  Warford collected two hits in each game and scored three runs in each game as well.  Rebecca Baker had three hits in three RBIs in game one.

The Eagles will battle Midway College on Monday at home at 5:00 pm.
