Eagles Sweep Alice Lloyd

Game One | Game Two

Pippa Passes, Ky. – The Asbury softball team continued it’s hot start, sweeping Alice Lloyd in another KIAC double-header 10-1 and 15-1.  The Eagles are hitting .421 as a team in the first four games of the season.

Asbury (4-0) jumped on Alice Lloyd early in game one scoring five runs in the first inning.  The Eagles totaled four hits in the inning.  Asbury would score five more runs in the fourth inning behind five hits.  Overall Asbury totaled 12 hits in the game as Molly Knight led the way with three including a triple.  Emily Ethington and MaryAnn Warford each picked up a pair of hits.  Maris Harreld went the distance in the circle striking out five in picking up her second win of the season.

Game two would be much the same for the Eagles as they scored two in the first inning and followed that up with four more in the second.  Mirranda Drury would go 4-4 with a pair of doubles and six RBIs in the game.  The Eagles would total 11 hits and 13 RBIs in their highest scoring contest of the season.  Danielle Jennings collected two hits in two at-bats and scored two runs.  Kelsey Robinson picked up her first win on the season in a four inning start.  She struck out seven.

Asbury is in action on Thursday March 11th at Oakland City University to take on the Mighty Oaks at 4:30 pm.  The Eagles are set to open up at home on Saturday March 13th against Ohio Christian at 3:00 pm.
