Eagles Rout Alice Lloyd
Wilmore, KY - Asbury scored 28 runs in a two game sweep of Alice Lloyd, as the softball team improved to 13-10 and 5-4 in the KIAC. The Eagles put up 10 runs in the first inning of game one en route to a 17-0 victory. Asbury would score at least two runs in game two in winning 11-2. Both games would last only five innings.
Emily Ethington blasted her third home run in game one, she finished with three hits and four RBI. Stephanie Wade, Carrie Wilderman, and April Lancaster would each have three hits and Kendall Ratchford had two doubles. Asbury pounded out 19 hits in game one. Wilderman gave up only two hits, zero walks, and struck out four in the complete game shutout, earning her seventh win of the year.
Alice Lloyd made sure they wouldn't be shutout again as they scored in the first inning of game two. Asbury would answer with two in the bottom then start piling it on, four in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth. Ratchford had three hits including another double in game two. Mirranda Drury, Emily Shetler, and Wade each had two hits in game two. Wade also picked up her sixth win of the season as she gave up only five hits, two runs, one earned and stuck out four.
The Eagles stay home to play Brescia University Thursday April 16 at 5pm.
